As a contribution to Canada's heritage, to document, preserve and publicize the names and deeds of these persons whose contributions to the advancement of Canadian aerospace have been of superior benefit to Canada.

 

The Belt of Orion Award for Excellence was founded by Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame to honour organizations, groups, societies or associations who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of aviation in Canada.

Canada’s Aviation Distinction Award recognizes extraordinary events or actions resulting in the saving of life of others or carried out with that intent and/or the execution of a significant technological aeronautical or space project with specific reference to Canada or Canadian interests.
